I have included a number of my copies on these pages. I have not painted the signatures of any of the various artists from the past, to make it more difficult for the paintings to get passed off as originals, although I am sure any discerning collector will realise that one cannot forge a painting that is already in a collection or gallery somewhere and hope to be able to pass it of as `another orinal` I`m sure it is disingenuous to claim my paintings are original copies, because I could never prove that another copyist had not already made a copy. So I am just calling them my copies.
As anyone viewing my website will see, that my paintings tend towards the traditional styles of Realism, Impressionism and Pointillism. I have in the past tried my hand at abstract work, but frankly, I simply didn`t know what I was doing. So I have concentrated on painting what I think genuine art lovers like to see, something they understand. And so I have turned towards making works that rely a lot on light to capture the beauties of what is being depicted.
As one can see, the painting of Singapore At Night (see left) relies almost totally on contrasts and because it is a night time work, the underlying background is very dark, thus allowing the buildings and reflections to stand out, because the depiction of the lights are in stark contrast to the background.
